During his twenty-three years of practice, Brian Purtill has successfully managed cases for both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of personal injury, breach of contract, real estate fraud, mechanics' lien law, construction law, complex construction defect cases, land use issues, easement and boundary disputes, and other general litigation matters. He has handled cases in most Northern California coastal counties from San Francisco to the Oregon border, as well as the U.S. District Court in San Francisco.
Brian has served as a Small Claims Court Judge, a Settlement Conference Panelist, Discovery Referee, Arbitrator, and as Judge Pro Tem. He is also a trained and experienced mediator, performing his Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services through Arbitration & Mediation Services in Santa Rosa. Brian has served on the steering committee for the ADR section of the Sonoma County Bar Association and the Bench-Bar Committee of the Sonoma County Bar Association. He has participated in numerous mediations on behalf of his clients over the years, and has conducted mediations and arbitrations in many types of cases, including personal injury, construction, landlord/tenant, and homeowner association matters.
Currently, Brian is decreasing his insurance defense practice to focus more heavily on his mediation and business litigation/consulting practice.
