Update Your Homeowner’s Insurance Policy to Reflect your Trust? | April 11, 2025

Have You Updated Your Homeowner’s Insurance Policy to Reflect Your Trust?

Following the recent fires in the Los Angeles area, many California insurers have reached out to policyholders with new policy updates. One important new policy update circulated by various insurers requires that your homeowner’s insurance policy reflect the title of your real property as being held in your revocable trust.  If your revocable living trust holds title to your real property and you have not yet updated your policy to reflect this ownership, it is strongly recommended to contact your homeowner’s insurance provider to inquire about endorsements to your homeowner’s insurance policy to include your trust as an additional insured. Often, these endorsements are available at no cost or for a minimal one-time fee.
